Of course the scalar product of two four-vectors V *is* a energy.

Next I present the Dirac Hamiltonian and discuss why the root-
Hamiltonian used in classical relativistic mechanics (appearing in
many relativists textbooks) is not adequate.

Since that already the SR Hamiltonian is *not* adequate for quantum
purposes, one would think twice before quantizing Hamiltonian of GR,
right?

Well, no. Relativists decided to ignore problems with special
relativity (and continue to do) and directly tried to develop a
quantum general relativity based in the WdW equation.

The result? Forty years of problems and difficulties and hundred of
papers on relativist journals about that: supposed corrections,
alternative formulations...

Ignore those papers. Almost none particle physicist believe on the
WdW, which is mainly promoted by relativists only. A non-exhaustive
set of criticism to WdW and loop quantum gravity is done on
/abs/hep-th/0501114.
