Quincy Pondexter Bringing Basketball Camp to King's
Former Washington Husky and current New Orleans Hornets forward Quincy Pondexter will be in Shoreline August 2nd to 5th, conducting his first ever basketball camp for kids in the King's School's Mike Martin Gymnasium.
Open to boys and girls between the ages of 6-16, the camp will teach basketball fundamentals and injury prevention, along with encouraging team participation, and the personal development of each individual camper. Campers will also experience live game action.
"This camp is going to be non-stop fun over the course of these four days," said Pondexter, a 2010 All Pac-10 First Team selection, in a press release. "I am excited to be back in Seattle to hold my inaugural camp, and I would like to thank King's Schools for welcoming all of these kids as we get ready to hit the court August 2."
Along with seven hours of instruction per day, campers will also receive a reversible camp jersey, autographs, snacks (campers are asked to bring their own lunch) and prizes. Philadelphia 76ers center Spencer Hawes and Milwaukee Bucks forward Jon Brockman -- both former teammates of Pondexter at Washington -- and Oklahoma City Thunder forward Nick Collison are among those scheduled to appear as guest speakers during the week.
