A very serious accident occurred to Mrs. Will Merideth Tuesday which may cost her her foot. She was driving a horse attached to a buggy and when near the railroad crossing at the Lawrence farm the animal became frightened at something and commenced to run. Mrs. Merideth seeing that she could not control the animal jumped from the buggy and in doing so broke both bones of one limb just above the ankle joint. The bones forced their way through her stocking and into the ground.
