Ronaldo spotted wearing Meccaniche Veloci

Real Madrid footballer Cristiano Ronaldo has been spotted wearing a luxury Meccaniche Veloci watch while training in Los Angeles.

He was photographed wearing the Quattro Valvole by the Italian watchmakers, said to be inspired by the 1984 Ferrari 308 GTB/GTS Quattrovalvole, which is powered by four-valve cylinder heads.

Meccaniche Veloci’s Quattro Valvole watch features four inner dials which display the time zones of the owner's choice, with many made bespoke.

The timepieces have Swiss-made ETA 2671 automatic mechanism, within a titanium and aluminium case. Ronaldo's appears to be the luxury version of the watch, crafted in 19ct pink gold.

Ronaldo’s watch is likely to have an alligator skin strap, and he could have paid anywhere in the region of £20,000 for it.

There’s suggestion that Ronaldo's model was specially commissioned for the millionaire football star, who has family and loved one in several different time zones across the world.

The watches are designed to fuse both mechanical engineering and the highest quality of watchmaking craftsmanship, and as a result are often spotted on the wrists of Italian and international racing champions. They are said to “embody all the potential and force of sports cars and competition motorbikes.

308 GT4. It was designed by Leonardo Fioravanti who had been responsible for some of Ferrari’s most celebrated shapes to date such as the Daytona, the Dino and the Berlinetta Boxer. The 308 used elements of these shapes to create something very much in contrast with the angular GT4 2+2. The GTB/GTS was a 2-seater with sweeping curves and aggressive lines, and has become the most recognized and iconic Ferrari road car.
