Boyertown Y's Tomato Blast planned for August

Saturday’s activities include the fourth annual “Ketchup If You Can” 5k. Registration is from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. The race begins at 9 am. The first 150 runners receive race shirts. Entries postmarked prior to Aug. 5 are $18; Boyertown Area YMCA wellness members prior to Aug. 5 are $15; all entries after Aug. 5 and on race day are $23. Also on Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., carnival games will be open for children of all ages and include a moon bounce, soccer kick, football throw, duck pond, bean bag toss, roll a score, ring toss, ladder golf, mini golf, tomato sling shot, plinko, waffle ball, fish bowl, soup can toss and milk bottle toss. Tickets are needed to play games and can be purchased for 25 cents each. Games average one to four tickets. A coupon for four free game tickets can be downloaded from the Y’s website. A variety of delicious foods will be available for purchase. ATI entertainment will be providing DJ music.
